You Are Enough, and Nature Can Prove it...

Today, I took a yoga class through a beautiful lady names Jessica Lohrey. (Side Note: She creates her own unique blends of essential oils that smell AMAZING!) She spoke about her journey through life, and how she eventually came about owning her yoga studio, Oxford Community Yoga.

"There is nothing wrong with us, we are all an expression of nature (like a tree or a butterfly), and nature is never wrong."

This quote really resonated with me. I have spent the past year trying to figure out why I don't feel right in my own skin. I tried to talk to my friends. Quite frankly, they told me there was something wrong with me. They told me that I had attachment problems or that I needed to go to therapy. So, I went to therapy.

I enjoyed therapy, but it really made me feel worse overall. Yes, it was easy to sit and complain to a stranger about all that was wrong in my life. But, it kept me feeling like I was putting myself down.

It wasn't until I went home over winter break, I journaled and listened to YouTube videos trying to understand the source of my anxiety. The source was not me at all, the source of my anxiety was believing that something was wrong with me. Overall that caused me more anxiety than ever.

So, sometimes (not always) but a majority of the time, I think it would be beneficial for us, as humans, to sit back and listen to the lies our own brains are telling us. "You are not good enough." "Life is against you." "You are too fat." "You aren't pretty." And understand how much of that is really THE TRUTH.

I hope this resonates with you, and I hope this helps you on your journey to a happier, healthier life.

PS I loved my experience with therapy through BetterHelp, I just realized it was not what was working for me.
